Brain Injury Prevention Presentation reveals frightening truths about our local youths

"We have too many of our youth come through our trauma department every week." says Maureen Bowlin, Trauma Program manager at Southwest Healthcare's Inland Valley Medical Center. "The large majority of these accidents are while driving and where alcohol is involved more that 75% of the time. We also see a large portion of our teens in accidents due to driving while on the cell phone or texting. We need this to stop."

Southwest Healthcare System operates both Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar and Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta.
Teen Injury Prevention Expo Garners Rave Reviews

Temecula, CA -- Inland Valley Medical Center, in collaboration with the City of Temecula, Temecula Valley Unified School District, local emergency medical services, and area public service agencies, sponsored the 2012 Teen Injury Prevention Expo of Southwest Riverside County on Saturday, April 21st at Chaparral High School in Temecula. Designed primarily for youth ages 13-19, the expo featured interactive exhibits, demonstrations, and presentations to help teens and their parents learn how to avoid preventable injuries.

Patient Safety Awareness Week, March 4-10, 2012, is an annual education and awareness campaign for health care safety led by the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF).

Southwest Healthcare System Announces Consolidation of Inland Valley and Rancho Springs Women's Services

MURRIETA, CA — Now that the recently opened and expanded Women's Center at Rancho Springs Medical Center is the premier family birthplace in Southwest Riverside County, Southwest Healthcare System will complete its plan to move Women's Services at Inland Valley Medical Center into the Rancho Springs facility. The move will allow Southwest Healthcare System to enhance services to families, and provide expansion space for new services at the Inland Valley location.
Statement of Southwest Healthcare System Regarding Passage of CMS Certification Survey

MURRIETA, CA — Southwest Healthcare System has passed the CMS Certification Survey recently concluded pursuant to the System Improvement Agreement which Southwest had entered into with CMS and CDPH last year. As a result, the termination notice which had previously been sent by CMS has been rescinded and Southwest has been restored to our deemed status. This outcome was the result of the dedication, devotion and hard work of the employees, medical staff, volunteers and leadership at Southwest. We are also very appreciative of the cooperation and collaboration of the dedicated professionals at CMS and CDPH. Their willingness to work with Southwest during this process was a major factor in our success and we are pleased that their confidence in Southwest was validated. We appreciate the tremendous support we received from our local officials during this difficult period and wish to express our gratitude.

TEMECULA, CA — Southwest Healthcare System was an Emerald Sponsor of this year's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to end breast cancer. Thank you to our team of 94 participants from Rancho Springs Medical Center and Inland Valley Medical Center, who helped support this great cause. We had a number of cancer survivors right here from our own hospitals that joined the thousands who raced for the cure.
