Travel TipsBe prepared when you travel. Use the following check list when you pack to help ensure a safe and healthy journey:

  • Carry a small medical kit with bandages, gauze, tape, scissors, tweezers to remove stingers or foreign bodies and a topical antibiotic ointment to prevent infection or minor wounds and abrasions.

  • Pack an extra pair of eyeglasses or contact lenses along with any needed cleaning and disenfectant solutions.

  • If you are currently taking any medications, be sure to bring enough with you to last your entire stay. Medications that are common in the United States may not be readily available abroad.

  • Traveler's diarrhea is common and if you have not been prescribed an anitbiotic by your physician, take along Pepto-Bismol or Imodium AD to slow down bowel movements.

  • In case safe drinking water is not available, bring along tablets for water purification or a filtering device. These can usually be found in sporting goods stores.
